Take advantage of a unique volunteering opportunity for summer 2017: Tutor at the Elementary Mathematics Program (EMP)!

U-M students are invited to apply to tutor rising fifth graders at the EMP for one or two weeks between 7/31 and 8/11, 2017.

In the mornings at the Elementary Mathematics Program, 30 fifth graders attend a mathematics class. The class is taught by an experienced teacher of mathematics and observed by educators and researchers from across the country. In the afternoons, the children engage in mathematical problem-solving games in a personalized, individual tutoring relationship with a U-M student.

We are now accepting applications from U-M students who are interested in working as EMP tutors every afternoon, under supervision, in the tutoring clinic.

If you are interested, please complete the online application form located here. The priority deadline is April 28. After that, applications may be accepted on a rolling basis if space permits.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the tutoring program preceptor. We look forward to receiving your application and hope to see you this summer.
