TeachingWorks’ annual streaming seminar series is designed to support collective progress to design, implement, and study practice-based approaches to teacher training and development.

The TeachingWorks seminar series is a year-long seminar series hosted by TeachingWorks at the University of Michigan.  We organize each annual series as a curriculum around a central problem topic or theme.  We learn about the topic across the year, through the presentations by and interactions with the speakers.  There are often additional enriching events related to the seminar series talks, such as lunches with the speakers, and collaborative readings of speakers’ work.

The seminar series, entering its twelfth year, has proven to be a valuable resource to the University of Michigan School of Education community. In 2011-2012, TeachingWorks greatly expanded the series' audience by streaming the seminars live online. Over 1,000 participants viewed the seminar on computers and mobile devices around the world. The online format continued in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, and the audience grew to more than 2,000 participants from a dozen countries.

Seminars take place at the University of Michigan School of Education in Ann Arbor, MI, and are streamed live on the internet and then archived on the TeachingWorks website. Questions and comments will be actively solicited from those viewing the event online.  Participation is open to all, but registration is required.
